Electrification
The Building Electrification Program
The Building Electrification program is offered by Southern California Edison (SCE) to help eligible homeowners and renters electrify their homes by replacing natural gas and propane appliances with high-efficiency electric equipment. The result, a healthier, safer, and more comfortable home! And the best part – there is no cost to you as a participating customer for any of the upgrades made through the program.
THE BENEFITS OF GOING ELECTRIC
Going electric can benefit you, your family, your community, and all of us.
- Save on energy bills: High-efficiency electric appliances are three to five times more efficient than gas models, meaning they can often lower your overall energy costs.
- Improve the health and safety of your home Removing gas appliances can improve the indoor air quality of your home, making it a healthier place for you and your family.
- Better for the environment: Electrification enables your home to use cleaner energy, which can help reduce carbon dioxide emissions and help California meet its clean energy targets.
WHAT'S OFFERED
If you meet eligibility requirements, you may receive these high-efficiency electric upgrades at no cost. The program covers all equipment and installation costs.
- Heat pump heating and AV system
- Heat pump water heater
- Induction cook stove
- ENERGY STAR® certified electric clothes dryer
- Smart thermostat
- And more!
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
There are four stages to program participation. We will manage your home electrification upgrades.
Step 1. Let Us Know You’re Interested!
Submit an online interest form at goelectric.maromaesa.com or call 833-367-5497
Step 2. Qualification and Home Assessment
A program representative will review your income eligibility and the program guidelines with you either in person or by telephone. After qualification, we will assess your home to determine what electrification upgrades it may qualify for. We will also conduct a rate analysis and identify potential bill savings.
Step 3. Service Delivery
Our team will schedule work to be done on your home. Installations and services will be done by approved licensed contractors.
Step 4. Inspection
The program will perform a project inspection to ensure you are satisfied and that installed equipment is functioning properly.
